Against The Tide is essentially trying for all of us to realize that how much climate is deeply connected to our sense of well-being, our happiness is.
We may or may not see it or make the connections.
Our most intimate relationships are changing because of it.
Our lives are connected to nature, no matter how different we think we may be, no matter what we say in terms of our sense of wanting to conquer nature, forgetting that we are the symptom of nature and when we want to conquer nature, we are actually waging a war against ourselves.
That is the story of climate change or that is how closely our value system is connected to the place where we are at today, where we must justify our existence by working hard and doing something and earning money and as if how much we can do decides how valuable our lives are.
I want us to know what is the deep connection between our wanting to perform and looking at ourselves as a workforce and the crisis that we are today in where we are all pursuing profit at no matter what the cost.
Are we really sure that that is the illusion we want to follow or that is the value system that we want to base our lives on?
I think that is the question that I want us all to ask.
